  1. BulletFUN

This is a fun, safe way to burn some calories. The moves are unique and yes, it's kind of complex...certainly not beginner. It might take me a while to get it downpat, but I will. Tonya Larson is a good instructor... ques very well, is encouraging, not annoying in any way. I will look for more of her workouts. - posted by Barbara on 9/14/2008

  1. BulletREALLY LIKED THIS ONE

I just did this video for the first time and really liked it. I see Collage changed the choreography to moderate and I definitely agree. I haven't done any step except on The Firm and that is pretty basic. Tonya gives really good cues and I will get it, just need to do it another time or two. My heart was up even while trying to learn the steps. I really liked the pump section- it was challenging. I did not get bored during this whole video. I like Tonya alot she's a good leader, encouraging and not annoying. I do like the spiritual warm up option at the beginning- gets you in the right frame of mind to start your day. This was a nice change from my Firm videos. - posted by Jaime on 9/13/2008

  1. BulletLOVED THIS!

What a great workout! The choreography was fun and fresh. You can keep it basic like the modifier or take it up a notch with Tonya. If you want to learn step, this is a nice DVD you can grow with. I've done lots of step and I followed all of the layers, which were easy to catch onto because of the great cueing. The pump section was very good too. I did the whole thing for a total body workout. I couldn't believe how quickly time passed! - posted by sneakers on 6/20/2008

  1. BulletSTEP IS BACK!

The choreography is definitely moderate (unless you consider step chug, scissor jump over step twice, reverse turn, tap, jumping jack, etc basic- that was just in the warm up combo). It flows well so that if you do miss a step, you can continue so that you don't have to stop and rewind. If you love Kari Anderson's BodyTech or Karen Voight's Ultimate Step Circuit then you will love this as the choregraphy is similar to those but slightly less intense. The moves do change frequently without a lot of repetition but it's not complex or super fast moving like Christy, Cathe or Rob Glick step workouts. This fills the niche for those of us who want decent, non repetitive step workouts without being too complex. Even the warmup combo is mixed impact so you do get a full 30 minutes of cardio. There are modifiers so you can progress to advanced versions of the moves when ready. It is the type of workout that you can push it when you want to, especially if you know all the moves or just coast along if you want a lighter workout. - posted by Patty on 5/8/2008

  1. BulletTRULY INTERMEDIATE FUN CHOREOGRAPHY!

I enjoyed this workout tremendously and believe Tonya fills a "niche" for solid, intermediate "fun" choreography. (nothing fancy or too complex that has you frusterated learning the patterns) I hope she brings us more step workouts in the future! The step workout allows you to follow Robin, the modifier, or Tonya or Traci to "up" the intensity. The Pump portion packs a punch in the allotted time. She uses the same rep pattern (2 down, 2 up for 4 reps, then 8 single counts, then pulse 3 times for 4 reps then finish with another 8 single counts) throughout. You can choose light or medium weights, depending on the body part being worked on. I've done the step 4 times and the pump portion once. - posted by Denise on 5/3/2008

  1. BulletEXCELLENT WORKOUT TO BURN FAT!

I found yet another great workout through Amazon. I really enjoy this one and if I'm going to be totally honest, I lost a lot of my fitness levels lately and needed something just like this to get me back in top notch again. While I don't need to lose much weight, I need to get my fitness back at the top and this has helped me progress because it's fun to do and the step portion is about 20 minutes so it always seemed doable. It uses basic choreography so you shouldn't find it hard to keep up and Tonya is a great cuer and motivational. The weight section is about 22 minutes, so when you put both portions together, you get a great 55 minutes (including warm up and stretches). The toning segment is also easy to follow and the perfect amount of time. All you need are weights and your step and that's it. If there is one thing I don't like about the dvd is the pre-program Bible meditations, but you can obviously skip that and get straight to the fantastic workout. I love it and highly recommend it.

  1. BulletI LOVE THIS SAFE AND EFFECTIVE WORKOUT!

Tonya Larson's Step Pump DVD is truly innovative. I liked seeing new moves that I haven't seen before, while keeping "the core" in mind. As a licensed physical therapist I appreciate the care she took to make this workout both safe & effective. With 3 intensity levels I feel comfortable recommending these workouts to a wider range of people. The instructions were great even during more challenging choreography moves. As a mother of 3 boys under five years of age I need a solid workout worthy of the limited time I have for myself. Tonya Larson's manner is both warm and encouraging. I thoroughly enjoyed her spiritual warm-ups and obvious sincere faith. What a refreshing workout!
